Tristan is a recent grad from Ryerson University’s retail management program who is now working with Discount Car and Truck Rentals. He sometimes works behind the counter, but he’s also getting experience at head office and in different departments, such as sales and marketing.
At companies like Discount Car and Truck Rentals, career advancement opportunities are merit-based, so it is not out of the question to start in a sales position and quickly rise to a retail management position. “Your career depends on your capabilities,” Rubina says.
