While summer is still in full force, the school year is slowly approaching and staying organized is a top priority.
Though physical planners are lovely and going to the local bookstore is always exciting, they can be expensive and aren’t the most sustainable option. Luckily, there are many easily accessible free online planners to make your scheduling needs more achievable.
Here are three popular options that are customizable and easy to use.
Notion:
Notion is a platform that provides its users with a weekly schedule, journal space and task list. It also includes a notes page and areas for personal home memos (recipes, goals, etc.) and a reading list, which is excellent for keeping track of school texts and books.
Notion’s weekly schedule is very customizable, with options for colour coding and background images.
The weekly schedule is straightforward to change week-to-week and includes space for anything you may need to add.
Maps, to-do lists, calendars, embedded tweets and PDFs are all available on Notion. You can even add someone from your contacts to a specific event, so they receive a reminder as well.
On top of that, Notion can give you timely reminders for essential tests, meetings and classes. If you focus better when your workspace is attractive, you can customize your pages with colourful themes and templates.
Notion can be downloaded to your smartphone or accessed on a desktop.
My Study Life:
This next planner platform is excellent for daily events as it already lays out times for you hour by hour.
My Study Life is a bit less customizable but perfect for those looking for more structure, as it caters specifically to a school environment. Users can input daily tasks and colour code them per assignment.
It has a section to count how many exams you may have coming up and a space for your daily classes. It also counts how many tasks you’ve added to your plan, so you know the number of things you need to get done on any given day.
The platform allows users to indicate how much of an assignment has been completed by listing percentages. In contrast, the to-do list feature allows you to check off the task, which is very satisfying.
My Study Life also allows space for users to fill in their entire class schedule per semester.
Finally, the platform has a search option so you can find a specific task instantly in case your schedule gets a bit too crowded.
Plan:
The last platform is Plan.
Plan offers excellent features like weekly agenda templates, a space for word documents, hourly task lists and different calendar layouts.
Plan has a unique feature where the app allows you to add multiple workspaces. This feature is beneficial for someone who works a job and goes to school at the same time. The workspace features enable users to build two different schedules on the same platform. You can even invite others to share a plan or workspace.
For example, you could share a workspace with colleagues or create one for a school group project. Plan’s timeline allows you to see how far along everyone is in their work too.
Plan can integrate with your Google Drive and email.
The app can also calculate how many meetings you have in a month based on your Google Calendar. The app can require some payments, depending on how many members you add to your schedules. However, it’s free for unlimited use for 1-4 members and 1-2 integrations.
If you want to add more members, you can sign up for the premium membership, which costs $6.67 a month. It’s also easy to remove members and delete workspaces.
Staying organized is easy and can be done by pressing a few buttons on your phone or computer. Consider keeping track of all your work and projects with one of these platforms this year. Good luck and stay organized!
